The region of Tuscany in Italy is home to quite a few tourist attractions called : Agriturismo. Our Agriturismo is located in the town of Lajatico, Andrea Boccelli's hometown. The Agriturismo's countryside is known as "della Vardera" which is close to several tourist attractions: Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Siena, Florence and the Tuscan seashore.
The Agriturismo offers accommodations in "casetta" (spacious apartment
over two floors); apartments with one and two bedrooms (for disabled clients
too !) with terraces and panoramic views. The apartments are equipped
with satellite TV, modern bathrooms, small kitchens. The grounds have
two in-ground swimming pools for adults and children, respectively. The
Agriturismo allows clients to hike, take walks on its land as well as
provide guided tours to local areas of attraction. Additionally, the Agriturismo
has a barbecue grill for use by guests, a "parco giochi" for children,
parking, a laundry room and a "cantina" where guests can taste and buy
the products (olive oil, wine, honey. etc.) produced on the grounds of
the Agriturismo. Prices for the "casetta" and other apartments will vary
depending on the apartment selected, time of year, and any additional
services requested during one's stay.
The Agriturismo
is open year-round (swimming pools are open from early June to mid-October).
Minimum required stay is 1 week during high season; off-season one or
two days depending on availability as well as week-end stays. During the
high season in 2005, the Agriturismo plans to offer breakfast service
as well as one or two dinners per week. In addition, there are two fine
restaurants near the Agriturismo that serve local specialty dishes. The
Agriturismo does accept credit cards, and has a staff that speaks English
and German.
